Griepentrog Date: October 24th, 1941 - February 20th, 2010 Obituary: GOODFIELD – David Carl Griepentrog, 68 of Goodfield, IL died at 10:41 am Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the emergency room at Eureka Hospital in Eureka, IL, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 24, 1941 in David, Nebraska to Carl A. and Irene Eucher Griepentrog, he married Linda Gaddis on December 8, 1961 in Sidney, NE. She survives. Also surviving are 3 sons, Keith (Linda) Griepentrog of Bend, OR, Ken Griepentrog of Denver, CO, and Kris (Sally) Griepentrog of Eureka, IL,2 brothers, Dennis (Kay) Griepentrog of Eureka, IL and Dean Griepentrog of Meadow Grove, NE, 1 Grandson, Seth Griepentrog and 2 Step-Grandcchildren, Brian and Riana Jacobs. He was preceded in death by his parents. David was a computer system analysis for Caterpillar Tractor Co., retiring in 2000 after 30 years of service. He also worked part-time as a Deputy for the Woodford County Sheriff’s Department for 20 years, retiring in 2004. He served as the Montgomery Township #2 Assessor, Mayor of Goodfield, and on the Woodford County Board. He also had served on the Tazwood Health Board and the Eureka-Goodfield Fire Board. He was a member of the Eureka Rotary Club, and was a very active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Washington, where he w as a Trustee. Services for David will be at 10:30 am Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church in Washington. Pastor John Rothfusz will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services.
