Obituary:
Larry Ray Kipfer, 65, of Morton, died at 11:20 AM on Friday, February 12, 2010 at his residence. He was born on October 21, 1944 in Ft. Wayne IN to Ralph R. and Fern E. Martin Kipfer. Surviving are his father, Ralph Kipfer of Morton; one sister, Carol Kipfer of Morton; one brother, Don (Beverly) Kipfer of Meadville, PA; 3 nephews and 1 niece. He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister, Sharon. Larry was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as a steel fabricator and welder with K&M Fabricators, and then moved west to Arizona to work on the Palo Verde nuclear power plant before spending 14 years with Otto Baum. Larry was a member of the Ironworkers Union. Larry loved to fish, enjoyed reading and loved to work with the handicap ministry at the South Side Mission, where he was a member of the Redeemer Special Church. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. The Rev. Jack Cook and Rev. Milo Nussbaum will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Military rites will be accorded following the services at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the South Side Mission Handicap Ministry or to the Disabled American Veterans
