Born on April 26, 1928 in Beardstown, IL to Frank J. and Lucy Wilber Wetherell, she married Jack V. Horner on November 16, 1947 in Beardstown. He preceded her in death on September 26, 2006 in Chillicothe. Surviving are 3 children: Kenneth (Susan) Horner of Mission Viejo, CA, F. Steve (Marlene) Horner of Spring Lake, MI, and Theresa (Steve) Montgomery of Henry, IL, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 6 sisters, 1 brother, and 1 great-grandson, Dax Locke. She was an Administrative Assistant for Peoria School District #150 for many years, and was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chillicothe. A funeral service for Maxine will be at 2 pm Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Steven Mall will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services, and inurnment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington at a later date.
