Fredrick J. Roosevelt, 95, of Washington, IL died at 11:15 pm Monday, February 1, 2010 at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria.
Born on April 17, 1914 in Albion, IL to Elmer and Emma Mode Roosevelt, he married Catharine Berry on April 17, 1935 in Mount Carmel, IL. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2001 in Peoria, IL.
Surviving are 1 son, Steven (Bea) Roosevelt of Deer Creek, IL, 1 daughter, Marianne Boundy of East Peoria, IL, 1 brother, Harold Roosevelt of Albion, IL, 4 grandchildren, Lynnette Boundy, Colleen (Ken) Miller, Spencer (Stacey) Roosevelt, and John (Dawn) Roosevelt, and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers and sisters, and a grandson, Donnie Boundy.
Fred was a Supervisor of Manufacturing Engineers at Caterpillar Tractor Co. where he worked for 42 ½ years, retiring in 1977.
He was a Mason and enjoyed woodworking. He also was an avid golfer.
A memorial visitation for Fred will be from 10-12 noon on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial of the cremated remains will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington at a later date.
