Born on May 24, 1918 in Stonefort, IL to Robert and Eulah Choate Gay, he married Florence M. Jenkins she preceded him in death and he later married Annie Weigand. She also preceded him in death. Surviving are 1 son, David Gay of Bowling Green, KY, 1 brother, Robert Gay, 1 sister, Mildred Gay both of Marion, IL, 1 granddaughter, Lindsay Gay of Bowling Green, KY, and several nieces and nephews. Lindsey was a WWII Army veteran. He retired after 30 yrs of service from Caterpillar Tractor Company where he worked in the Planning Department, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria. Lindsey loved golfing and watching his granddaughter play sports. He also loved coaching sports and visiting with family and friend. He was an avid Bradley Basketball fan. Services will be at 10 am Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
