Obituary:
WASHINGTON--Myrtle Irene Allen, born September 5, 1920, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 24, 2009. Myrtle was born in Gridley, IL in a place which is now a part of Lake Bloomington, the first child of William Hinthorn and Pearl Noel Hinthorn. Myrtle married Harry E. Allen December 24, 1940. They had one son, Harry James (Jim) Allen(Jane) of Indianapolis, IN. Myrtle also has two grandchildren, James David Allen (Patty) of Waxahachie, TX and Julie Ann Essington (Ronald), of Fishers, IN. She also is survived by four grandchildren, Ryan Joseph Essington, of St. Paul, MN, Erin Elizabeth Essington of Fishers, IN, Jordan Leigh Allen(Sasha) of Waxahachie, TX and Joshua Patrick Allen of Waxahachie, TX. She also has two great-grandchildren, Dusti Money and Mikaylah Money of Waxahachie, TX Myrtle also is survived by a sister, Hazel Gaddis of LeRoy, IL and Grace Carey of Minonk, IL as well as many beloved neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Hinthorn and Pearl Hinthorn, a brother, Elmer Hinthorn, and a sister, Aletha Vick, and her husband Harry E. Allen, to which she would have been married 69 years on the day of her passing. The family would also like to acknowledge Myrtle's "extended" family in Colorado and their families, to whom she was "Grandma Allen" for many, many years. They are Jeanette Garrett, Lane Selman, Linda Fritz, Bonnie Archer, Wanda Iden, and Robin Odeneal. Myrtle was a member of Roland Manor Baptist Church in Sunnyland, IL for many years. Funeral services will be Monday, December 28, 2009 at 11 am with visitation one hour prior to services at Deiters Funeral Home, Washington, Illinois. Final resting place will be at Hudson Cemetery, Hudson, Illinois.
