Obituary:
WASHINGTON- Doris K. Agans, 52, of Washington died at 11:51 AM on Sunday November 1, 2009 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on April 24, 1957 in Eureka to Edward and Lillian (Kempf) Koehl. She became the beloved wife of Kenneth L. Agans on May 5, 1979 underneath a blue sky, in a field sprinkled with dandelions. They were passionately married for 30 years. She also is survived by her 2 daughters Manirah and Erika Agans of Washington; 2 sisters Norene (Howard) Pergament of Eugene, OR and Rita (Gary) Rose of Glenwood, MN; brother Karl (Marilyn) Koehl of Hancock, MN; and other dear family members. She was preceded in death by son Chad Agans, her parents, and sister Shirley Koehl. Doris loved seeking the Lord each morning before the day began. She was actively involved in homeschooling her two daughters, who remember spending countless hours laughing, crying and talking with her in the evenings. Reading, camping, gardening and having new adventures were a part of her abundant life. Each Christmas the house was filled with the aroma of her traditional filled noodles and fried chicken. She always enjoyed a competitive game of Wahoo! Doris was a member at Riverside Community Church. She was committed to the prayer team and volunteered at Hope Store (Dream Center Peoria). Sharing in deep conversations with everyone throughout the day and encouraging others to find the fullness of God’s destiny for their lives was essential to her. A celebration of life will be held at 10 AM on Friday, November 6, 2009 at Riverside Community Church in Peoria. Pastor John King will officiate. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Washington. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, November 5 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.
