Name: James H. Hagel Date: August 4th, 1915 - October 1st, 2009 Obituary: East Peoria- James H. Hagel, 94, of East Peoria died at 9:50 PM at Rosewood Care Center on Thursday, October 1, 2009. He was born August 4, 1915 in Peoria to Herman and Catherine (Stein) Hagel. He married Mary “Mayme” Taucher on June 3, 1941 in Winchester, VA. She preceded him in death on September 21, 2000. He is survived by one son Gary (Terry) Hagel of East Peoria. He was preceded in death by an infant son, one brother, and one sister. Jim was a sheet metal worker and had been a member of Local #1 for over 70 years. During WWII he helped build LST’s at Our Prairie Shipyard in Seneca, IL. He last worked for Natkin Sheet Metal. After retiring, Jim moved to Florida where he enjoyed more than 20 years of sunshine. A visitation for James Hagel will be held from 4-6 PM on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Cremation rites will be accorded following.
