Foster, 92, of East Peoria, died at 5 PM on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Fondulac Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in East Peoria. Born on June 7, 1917 in New Rockford, ND to James and Ruth Fuhr Redmond, she married Harry E. Foster on May 24, 1948 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2006 in Peoria. Surviving is her daughter, Cheryl (Gene) Counce of Jonesboro, AR; 3 grandchildren, Michele Frans, and Joe (Kim) Frans, both of Washington, and Gene Counce, Jr. of Memphis, TN; 3 great grandchildren, Morgan, Beckett and Riley. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Leroy Redmond. Dorothy and her husband, Harry, owned and operated the Peoria Arts & Crafts shop. She loved to fish, and was of the Catholic faith. A committal service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria. Fr. Thomas Taylor will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
