Crummett, 63, of Washington passed away at 6:49 PM, Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at home surrounded by her family. She was born November 28, 1945 in Ottumwa, IA to Paul and Evelyn Poncy. She married Harley D. Crummett on February 19, 1965 in Ottumwa, IA; he survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Cheryl Bane and Cathy (Mark) Meyer, both of Washington, and one son, Brian (Cassie) Crummett of Carmargo, IL; 4 grandchildren, Brandon, Derek and Brittanie Reynolds of Washington, and Brianna Crummett of Carmargo, IL; 5 sisters, Linda (Steve) Mulcahy and Mary Baker, both of Ottumwa, IA, Paula James of Ankeny, IA, Chris (Jay) Appleby of Montezuma, IA, Rose (Joe) Briggs of Monroe, IA, and one brother, Joe (Billie) Poncy of Knob Noster, MO; also her Uncle Claire (Ellyn) Fleener of Ottumwa , IA and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. Janice retired from the accounting department at Sears. A service to celebrate Janice’s life will be held at 2 PM on Monday, July 20, 2009 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Fr. Joseph P. Donton will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Sunday, July 19 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton. Memorials: Memorial contributions may be made to the Crummett family.
