Born on November 30, 1943 in Normal, IL to Spencer and Muriel McKinney DePauw, he married Shirley Ann Davis on March 6, 1964 in Normal, IL. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Shirley, one son, Jason (Vickie) DePauw of Normal, IL and two grandsons, Justin and Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Spence received his Engineering Degree from Bradley University. He worked in various computer divisions at Caterpillar Tractor Co., and retired from the Patent Office after 38 years. He enjoyed working on model railroads and was active in the Peoria Area Woodworkers. There will be no services or visitation. Cremation rites will be accorded and cremains will be inurned at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
