Name: June Ann Andrews Date: August 30th, 1929 - June 5th, 2009 Obituary: WASHINGTON – June Ann Andrews, 79, died at 7:28 pm Friday, June 5, 2009 at her home at Washington Christian Village. Ms. Andrews, a daughter of Katherine and Harlan Hofer, was born August 30, 1929, in Peoria. A graduate of Woodruff High School, Ms. Andrews worked as a secretary for District 150 schools, but her life’s passion never strayed far from clothing design, sewing and other forms of fabric-related art. June loved to spend time with her family, but relished her independence. When June wasn’t lounging in her Crocs and rooting for the Chicago Cubs, she loved to play cards, watch movies, and read works of fiction, especially Stephen King. She was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church in East Peoria. Ms. Andrew's is survived by one brother, Richard Marfell of Varna, IL, three sons, Roland (Charlotte) Washburn of Osage, MO, Robin Washburn (Sharon Matusiak) of Marion, IL, and James (Linda) Washburn Sr. of Washington, IL, and four grandchildren, James Washburn Jr., Sarah Washburn, and Robert Washburn, all of Washington, IL and Mary Matusiak of Washington State. She was preceded in death by her parents. A funeral mass for Ms. Andrew’s will be at 10 am Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. Father Joseph P. Donton will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday, June 8, 2009 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Additional visitation will be from 9-10 am Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorials may be made to Washington Christian Village.
