Gasperi, 43, of Washington, died unexpectedly at 4:30 PM on Friday, May 8, 2009 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. He was born on February 20, 1966 in Carthage, IL to Larry and Kay Gasperi. He married Holly E. Schlosser on March 1, 2008 in the Dominican Republic. She survives. Also surviving are his parents, Larry and Kay Gasperi of Washington IL; his infant son Tyler Ward Gasperi of Washington; his daughter Kaleigh Jean Gasperi of Good Hope IL; 2 sisters, Julie (Jack Ellefritz) Paschon of Denmark IA, and Kim (Jamie) Ellefritz of Carthage IL; his in-laws, Patricia and Dominick Bonitatibus of Erie PA, 2 sister-in-laws, Kara Shubert of Euclid OH and Amy (Jeff) Jones of Erie PA, and 1 brother-in-law Kevin Schlosser of Erie PA; Holly’s grandparents, Jean and Jay Buchanan of Erie PA; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Clarence and LaVerna Gasperi, and Russell and Leta Ward, and 1 brother-in-law, Dallas Davidson. Jon worked as a concrete finisher for Rudy’s Concrete Construction for 12 years, and was a 1984 graduate of Washington Community High School. Jon enjoyed golf and was a NASCAR fan and avid weather watcher; above all, he was a loving husband to Holly and proud dad to Tyler and Kaleigh. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 13 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. The Rev. Beth Rupe will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3-7 PM on Tuesday, May 12 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington, IL.
