Born November 5, 1930 in Washington, IL to Larry and Thelma Attig Howe, she married Wayne Jackson on May 22, 1949 in East Peoria, IL. He survives. Also surviving is 1 son, Gregg (Pam) Jackson of East Peoria, and 1 daughter, Cindy (Larry) Cassidy of East Peoria; 1 sister, Iona (Norman) Townsend of East Peoria; 6 grandchildren, Michelle (John) Burgess, Janice (Phil) Vincent, Darryl (Crystal) Waldrop, Lisa (Jeff Shipley) Jackson, Jonathan Leggins, and Andrew Stidham; 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law. Betty retired at Caterpillar, Inc. where she had worked in the office in Peoria. She had been a majorette while attending East Peoria High School. Betty was a member of Faith Christian Centre, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, April 30. The Rev. Rick Brisbin will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, April 29 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
