Name: Jacqueline Sue Duncan Date: April 29th, 1934 - March 10th, 2009 Obituary: EAST PEORIA – Jacqueline Sue Duncan, 74, of East Peoria, died at 5:51 am Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at her home. Born on April 29, 1934 in Centralia, IL to Raymond L. and Ermagene L. Hensley Seiber, she married Richard E. Duncan on January 29, 1962 in Peoria. He survives. Also surviving is one son, David Lee Duncan of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents. A 1952 graduate of Washington Community High School, Jackie was a lifetime member and baptized at Sunnyland Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, where she served as a Deaconess. Jackie worked at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, serving in Pediatrics for two years. She also was employed by Westinghouse Electric Company as a receptionist in the Sales Department, where she quoted price bids for sales representatives. She also volunteered many hours caring for elderly residents at Leisure Acres Apartments in Washington. She made frequent visits to residents for personal needs and provided transportation to local stores. Jackie contributed several years of support to Northern Tazewell Fire Department and Rescue Squad in Washington, by helping with various fund raising activities. She was always on call for special occasions, emergency fires, serving food and other services to firefighters at the scene of fires, as well as being active in decorating the fire house with holiday decorations during the holiday seasons. A memorial service for Jackie will be at 11 am Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. The Rev. Dr. Bruce Dobyns will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday, March 16, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial of cremains will follow the service at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
