East Peoria- Elaine M. Coyle, 71, of East Peoria died at 10:45 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. She was born on February 26, 1938 in Hartford, CT to Fred and Yvonne Babineau. She married Richard Coyle in Phoenix, AZ on November 26, 1955. He survives.
Also surviving is 1 daughter Colleen (Paul) Herzog of Germantown Hills; 3 sons Michael (Cindy) Coyle of East Peoria, Steven (Jean) Coyle of Alameda, CA, and Richard (Colleen) Coyle, Jr. of Oconomowoc, WI; 1 brother; 2 sisters; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father Royce Simmons.
Elaine had been a film editor for Venard’s Films as well as a bookkeeper for several local nursing homes. She was a member at St. Monica’s Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Parish Advisory Board and as a Trustee. She enjoyed flower gardening, knitting hats for needy children, hunting for bargains at T.J. Max and playing cards with family and friends for hours at a time.
A funeral mass for Elaine will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in East Peoria. Father Ken Marchulones will officiate. Visitation will be held at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington on Wednesday, March 11 from 5-7 PM with Recitation of the Rosary at 6:45 PM. Additional visitation will be held at the church one half hour before services. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and private burial of the cremated remains will be on Friday at Kickapoo Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to St. Jude’s Midwest Affiliate.
