NORMAL-Deborah Dee Schertz Willmarth, 63, of Normal, IL, formerly of Washington, IL died at 5:04 PM Thursday, May 24, 2012 at her residence.
She was born on February 22, 1949 in Peoria, IL to Bob and Dorothy Kamp Schertz. Deborah married Ric Brooks on December 21, 1968 with whom she had 2 children, Rebecca (Joe) Fabish of Washington, IL and JR (Heather) Brooks of Huntington Beach, CA. She has 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Quinn, Trey and Braxton Fabish as well as Lexi and Camilla Brooks. Deborah later married Richard Willmarth in October 2003. He survives. Also surviving are 2 brothers, Douglas (Pat) Schertz of Mohomet, IL and Dennis (Sheila) Shertz of Sunnyland, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
Deborah attended Illinois Central College and Illinois State University. She was a member of the Peoria Area Association of Realtors. Deborah sold real estate for WRC, Jim Maloof, Re/Max and CNR. She also handled Caterpillar relocations for Re/Max and loved working with her clients. During her career as a realtor, she received many awards for Outstanding Production. Deborah was a talented florist who loved to spend time in her gardens and also loved interior decorating and riding horses. Above all, Deborah adored her family and friends and loved her Lord. She knew one day she would be welcomed into His embrace and that brought her daily comfort.
Deborah was a member of Calvary Mennonite Church in Washington, IL where funeral services will be at 3:30 pm Thursday, May 31, 2012. Pastor Tim Schrag will officiate. There will be no visitation. Deborah’s family will receive friends at the luncheon following the service. There will be a private family burial at Mount Zion Cemetery in Deer Creek, IL before the service. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
