When your loved one has chosen to be buried, the ceremonies you design revolve around the casket being present. Traditions may be followed with a viewing, and then a funeral service at the funeral home or your church. A service at the graveside could then follow these events, or you may choose only to have a commital service.

There is no right or wrong way for honoring your loved one when burial has been selected. We're here to listen to your concerns, share your experience, and help you arrive at the perfect way to gather together, prior to your loved one's interment in a cemetery of your choice.

Cremation refers solely to the manner in which you or your loved one has chosen to deal with the physical remains. It doesn't limit the ways you can honor your loved one's life. We heartily suggest that you have a funeral or memorial service, because your need for such a healing experience is not lessened by the decision to be cremated.

We are proud to be the only area family-owned funeral home to own and operate our own on-site crematory, and every crematory operator is a fully licensed funeral director. For further peace of mind, we employ our Secure CareTM standards to ensure that you and your loved one get the highest level of security and care. From the transfer of the body, the required identification process, to the licensed staff that conducts the cremation itself, you are under the care of our licensed staff, we don't do any outsourcing.

At Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory, we are committed to serving those who so courageously served our country! Deceased veterans are entitled to a number of benefits including a flag for burial, government marker, Presidential Meorial Certificate, and burial benefits if the veteran was receiving disability or a pension from the VA. Upon request, the veteran is also entitled to military honors at graveside. The branch from which the veteran served will deploy 2-3 uniformed active duty personnel to participate in a flag folding ceremony, coupled with the playing of Taps (either recorded or by live bugler) to honor and pay tribute to your loved one's service. Additional honors may be accorded by local groups as well.

We offer several options for memorialization for your loved one. Through our Life Tributes DVD slideshows, you can remember the life lived through your own photographs set to a comforting soundtrack. These slideshows can be played throughout the visitation and can also be used as a focal point for services. We also offer grave marker and monument services in-house, withour partners, Abel Vault & Monument. We can meet with you to discuss your memorialization needs, whether it is a simple grave marker or custom artwork on an ornate granite monument.
