Kathleen A. Yeagle

September 19, 1943 ~ November 25, 2017 (age 74)
Kathleen A. Yeagle, 74, of Washington, passed away at 10:30 am Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 at her residence.
She was born Sept. 19, 1943 in Peoria to John D. and Margaret A. Mason Yeagle.
She is survived by her son, John E. (Ann) Yeagle; grandchildren, Sharon A. and John R. Yeagle; 4 siblings, John K. Yeagle, Maureen Miller, Jeanne Yeagle, Lois (John) Wood; and one niece and six nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Peggy Long and brother, Dennis Yeagle.
Inspired by John F. Kennedy's inaugural speech in 1961, she joined the army as a nursing student and served for eight years as a registered nurse. She had proudly volunteered for a one year tour in Vietnam before being discharged in 1971 as a Captain. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Washington, V.V.I. in Sunnyland and the Disabled American Veterans.
She worked as a registered nurse primarily in pediatrics and geriatrics at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria and other area health care facilities before retiring.
Kathleen was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington where her Memorial Mass will be held at 11am Friday, Dec. 1, 2017. Family will receive friends one hour before services at the church. Inurnment will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield at a later date. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's School in Metamora.
